Use the Photo Collage Maker tool
- Choose up to 12 photos. A two-column preview appears automatically.
- Set canvas dimensions, columns, spacing and background. Use the order buttons to rearrange photos.
- Choose Fill or Fit, then Build collage. Review the result and Prepare download.
A photo collage combines several pictures into one image. Start with a small set of related photos, choose a grid that fits their shapes and leave consistent space between them. A simple layout is often easier to read than a crowded one.
Make a collage step by step
- Choose the photos and remove near-duplicates.
- Set the final canvas shape: square, portrait or landscape.
- Pick a grid with enough cells and assign one photo to each cell.
- Adjust each crop so faces and important details stay visible.
- Set borders, spacing and a background colour.
- Export, check the result at sharing size and compress if needed.
Choose the grid before the crops
A 2 × 2 grid works well for four equally important pictures. A wide main photo with smaller supporting images creates a different hierarchy. Try to avoid mixing very tight portraits with distant subjects unless that difference serves the story.
Calculate cell dimensions
For a 1200-pixel-wide collage with two columns, 20-pixel outer margins and a 20-pixel gap, each cell is 570 pixels wide: (1200 − 40 − 20) ÷ 2. The height calculation depends on the row count and vertical spacing. Use source photos with enough pixels for their assigned cells.
Fill or fit?
Fill crops a picture to cover its cell. Fit keeps the whole photo but may leave empty space. Use fill for a consistent grid when edge cropping is acceptable. Use fit when every part of the image matters, such as a product diagram or a document photo.
How collage rendering works
The editor creates one output canvas and draws each source photo into a destination rectangle. Each rectangle has its own crop and scale. Background and border areas are painted between the photos, then the full canvas is encoded as one image.
Keep the finished file manageable
The exported size depends on the final canvas and encoding, not simply the sum of the source file sizes. A collage of eight huge originals can still be modest if the output dimensions are sensible. Avoid choosing an oversized canvas only because the source photos are large.
Can I change one photo later?
A flattened export combines the grid into one picture. Save an editable project or keep your source photos and layout settings if you want to replace a cell later.
