How to use Meme Generator

Make a meme with your own photo. Add captions, adjust text and outlines, and download the finished image. Your selected photos stay in your browser.

  1. Choose your photo or Try a sample. Top and bottom text boxes appear automatically.
  2. Select a caption, edit its wording and style, then Update selected text. Drag it or set X/Y percentages to position it.
  3. Add more text boxes if needed, then Prepare download and save the finished meme.

What to expect

Use your own images. Captions support line breaks, font choices, colours, outlines and opacity. This tool makes still-image memes; it does not generate AI images, animations or videos.

Are images uploaded?

No. These tools use local browser processing and have no image-upload endpoint. The site can still use normal hosting logs and its existing Analytics setup.

Which images are supported?

Static JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 20 MB, 8 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Animated images, SVG, HEIC, RAW, PDF and video are not supported.

Can I undo my edits?

Editing tools keep a limited recent history during the session. Use Undo and Redo. Closing or refreshing the page discards unsaved work.

What happens when I download?

Image editors export a new flattened file without overwriting your original. Colour tools let you copy colour values; palette extraction also provides a text download.

HOW IT WORKS

How meme generation works

See how captions and outlines are drawn onto your image, then flattened into a downloadable meme.

Caption layers

Each caption stores text, font, position, outline and opacity separately until an image operation flattens it.

Relative placement

Text size and position use proportions of the photo so the preview and full-resolution output align.

Flattened export

Downloading paints all captions onto the photo. Keep the source if you want to make another version.
