How to use Add Text to Image

Add text to an image with editable captions, font sizes, colours and outlines. Create labelled photos in your browser without image uploads.

  1. Choose an image, enter a caption and choose its font, size, colours and outline.
  2. Select Add text box. Drag the selected text or use X/Y percentages; use Update selected text to apply wording and style changes.
  3. Add more boxes if needed, then Prepare download and save a flattened copy.

What to expect

Add up to 20 text boxes with line breaks. Font availability depends on the device and system fallbacks. This tool adds captions; it does not extract text with OCR or generate images from prompts.

Are images uploaded?

No. These tools use local browser processing and have no image-upload endpoint. The site can still use normal hosting logs and its existing Analytics setup.

Which images are supported?

Static JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 20 MB, 8 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Animated images, SVG, HEIC, RAW, PDF and video are not supported.

Can I undo my edits?

Editing tools keep a limited recent history during the session. Use Undo and Redo. Closing or refreshing the page discards unsaved work.

What happens when I download?

Image editors export a new flattened file without overwriting your original. Colour tools let you copy colour values; palette extraction also provides a text download.

HOW IT WORKS

How text is added to an image

See how text, outlines and placement are drawn onto your image and flattened into the exported pixels.

Text rendering

The browser draws each line using a local system font. Explicit line breaks start a new line.

Readable edges

An outline is painted behind the letter fill. Its width scales with the font size.

Export

The rendered text becomes part of the image pixels. JPG compression can soften lettering; compare it with PNG when sharp edges matter.
