Choose the layout your image needs before resizing. A square post, portrait card and full-height story use different proportions. Common presets are useful starting points; check the destination’s current requirements before publishing.

Choose a size preset

  • Square post: 1080 × 1080 pixels.
  • Portrait post: 1080 × 1350 pixels.
  • Story or vertical-video artwork: 1080 × 1920 pixels.
  • Landscape share image: 1200 × 630 pixels.
  • Video thumbnail artwork: 1280 × 720 pixels.

In Image Resizer, choose a preset. Both dimensions are populated and Fit with padding is selected so the exported canvas has the exact size without distorting your photo. You can change the width, height or fitting method afterward.

Crop, fit or pad?

Fill crops edges to cover the frame. Fit within a box preserves the whole photo but may produce dimensions smaller than the requested box. Padding preserves the whole photo inside an exact-size canvas. Stretch changes proportions and can make people or objects look distorted.

Edit and compress

Photo Editor also offers these layouts under Output size, with Fit or Fill. Add captions after resizing so their final placement is easier to judge. Use JPG for opaque photos and PNG or WebP when transparent padding matters. Check text and faces at the final display size, then compress a copy if needed. Upscaling increases pixel dimensions but does not restore detail that was absent from the source.
