SVG to PNG

Ready when you are.

Get started in three steps

  1. Choose a self-contained SVG under 2 MB.
  2. Set width and height, keep the aspect ratio or fit the artwork into a custom canvas.
  3. Choose transparency or a background colour, prepare the PNG and check the result.

What to expect

External images, fonts, scripts, animations and unsupported SVG elements are rejected. Convert lettering to outlines for reliable results. Outputs are limited to 4096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels.

Choose the right dimensions

Start with the dimensions required by your website or document. Keep aspect ratio enabled to retain the artwork proportions. If you turn it off, the artwork fits within your custom canvas and may leave padding; it is not stretched. Large output dimensions make a larger PNG and use more memory.

Keep the background transparent

Leave Transparent background selected. The checkerboard represents empty space and is not part of the exported image. If the SVG itself contains a solid background shape, that shape remains visible; this converter does not remove backgrounds inside the artwork.

Why are some SVG files rejected?

This tool accepts static, self-contained vector artwork. It rejects linked images, external fonts, scripts, animations and unsupported elements. Export a self-contained copy from your design application and convert text to outlines. System fonts may otherwise substitute for missing fonts.

Is PNG still a vector?

No. PNG stores pixels at a fixed resolution. Keep the SVG master if you need to edit paths or export another size. Use the resulting PNG in Favicon Generator or PNG Compressor when appropriate.

HOW IT WORKS

Behind the result

Render self-contained SVG shapes into pixels at the dimensions you choose, then save a PNG.

Check the SVG

The SVG is parsed as XML and checked against supported static elements. Event handlers, external references and active content are rejected before rendering.

Rasterise the artwork

The browser renders the checked SVG as an image and draws it onto a canvas. The artwork fits within the selected dimensions without stretching. Blank space is transparent unless a background is selected.

Encode PNG

The browser writes a PNG from the rendered pixels. The result has a fixed resolution and no longer contains editable vector paths.
