Image Checker
Check image size, dimensions, format, transparency and recorded DPI in your browser. Calculate print size and inspect common metadata without uploading your image.
Static JPG, PNG or WebP · up to 20 MB, 8 megapixels and 8192 px per edge. Read-only checks; no image uploads.

Metadata can be edited, copied or stripped. These clues cannot prove whether an image is real or AI-generated.
Evidence found
Content Credentials markers
Finding a marker is not cryptographic validation. This checker does not verify signatures, signers, provenance claims or external manifests.
Image information
Recorded image density
DPI is commonly used in searches; image density is measured in pixels per inch (PPI). A density tag does not tell you whether an image is sharp.
Calculate print size
Inspection notes
This checks common EXIF fields, PNG text, supported XMP fields and selected credential markers. Unsupported or removed metadata cannot be recovered. It is not a complete file-integrity, copyright or authenticity check.

Metadata may include private names, dates or prompts. The report includes these fields.
Check image information online
Check image size, dimensions, format, transparency and recorded DPI in your browser. Calculate print size and inspect common metadata without uploading your image.
- Choose a static JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Read dimensions, file size, transparency and recorded density.
- Choose a print PPI or download the inspection report.
What to expect
Checks are read-only. Missing density is shown as not recorded; the checker never assumes that an untagged image is 72, 96 or 300 DPI. The print calculator uses your chosen PPI and displayed dimensions.
How do I check image dimensions?
Choose your image and read the stored and displayed pixel dimensions. Orientation metadata can make those values differ.
Can I check the DPI of an image?
The checker reads recognised EXIF, JPEG JFIF and PNG pHYs density fields. If physical units are missing, no DPI is assumed.
Does 300 DPI mean good image quality?
No. The tag is a density instruction, not a measurement of sharpness. Pixel dimensions, source quality and intended print size all matter.
Does checking change the file?
No. Your source is read locally and is not modified or uploaded.
Can this verify copyright or authenticity?
No. Metadata and pixel properties do not establish ownership or whether a scene is real.
How image checking works
Read-only inspection combines file headers, supported metadata fields and decoded pixel information.
Read the file header
File signatures identify JPG, PNG or WebP independently of the filename extension. Stored dimensions come from the image header.
Read density tags
JPEG JFIF, EXIF X/Y resolution and PNG pHYs values are converted to pixels per inch only when physical units are recognised. Conflicting tags are shown separately.
Inspect decoded pixels
The browser decodes a static image locally. Alpha values identify fully and partially transparent pixels; displayed dimensions reflect the decoder’s orientation handling.
Calculate print size
Print width in inches equals displayed pixel width divided by the chosen PPI. Centimetres are inches multiplied by 2.54. This calculation changes no image data.
